Since people must be 18 or older to be a member, Gavel Clubs are appropriate for youth who enjoy the YLP so much they want to continue. This program helps clubs assess their club on six criteria vital for long term club success. By concentrating on First Impressions, Membership Orientation, Fellowship, Variety and Communication, Program Planning and Meeting Organization, Membership Strength and Achievement Recognition, Moments of Truth ensures that clubs have the information they need to achieve their goals. In addition to the Moments of Truth Program, clubs to gauge how well the needs of members are being met by conducting a member interest survey and conducting a survey to determine member short term goals, long term goals, and interests.
