Yukon Alaska Council of Toastmasters
The mission of the Yukon-Alaska Council of Toastmasters is to enhance the performance and extend the network of Toastmaster clubs in the Yukon Territory of Canada and in Alaska, thereby offering greater numbers of people the opportunity to benefit from the Toastmasters educational program.

Since Toastmasters is an organization where we support each other in building our communication and leadership skills, and since we cover such a huge territory; this new interactive website is to help conquer geographical boundaries and facilitate co-mentoring relationships among our members.

Individual members can 'video chat' with each other to get to know each other better, post their electronic presentations (PowerPoint, etc) along with their voice or post video of their speeches and ask for feedback. They can also create their own 'member websites', blogs, and picture albums.

You'll find the latest Northern Outlook newsletter, conference information, and other important current news. The yearly calendar, organization chart, information on our bylaws, policies and procedures manuals are available under the 'YACT Home' link on the left side of the Home Page. If you want to send a message to one of the YACT Officers, click on their name and the web site will send you’re your private message.

Information to help Club Officers is available under the 'Club Officers' link on the left side of the Home Page.

You’ll see that eligibility is required to get to most of these web pages. If you are already a member of a Toastmasters Club in Alaska or the Yukon Territory, you are eligible to join. This web site (hosted by iGroops, like FreeToastHost) is a benefit provided through the YACT dues club members pay (and it costs less than the paper-version of the Northern Outlook).

Why do we have to “Join”?

• By joining, access to the information you post is limited to other Toastmaster members in the Yukon and Alaska.

• It enables two-way communications, conquering our geographical barriers

• If you wish, you can choose to make some applications public, but only you can do so.

We've provided the members-only areas of our website so that you can communicate with fellow members and HAVE FUN! Go to the Applications link above and start your own blog, start posting your PowerPoint and video presentations, Toastmaster picture albums, webcasting, audio conferencing, video-chatting with other members, etc.

Benefits:

• The public Home Page is intended to encourage the public to join a Toastmasters club.

• The members-only pages are intended to facilitate better communications between members, breaking barriers of distance and enhancing relationships.

• To give our members the opportunity to learn how to communicate in electronic and multimedia environments.

• To offer the 'younger generation' more interactive and multimedia tools.

• To save YACT money.

You’ll have FUN learning how to use the interactive communication and electronic presentation applications!
